The best way to embrace a major life transition is to visualize every step.
If someone said to me, “Hannah, in a couple months you’ll be living somewhere totally new with a whole new friend group,” I’d feel a bit uneasy! Living where? What does it look like? Friends with whom? Huh??
But with some simple visualizing and manifesting it’s actually really easy to acclimate to a new, exciting adventure!
Take a deep breath. Visualize yourself feeling confident and enthusiastic as you move into your dorm. You’re arranging your new dorm decor and finding a home for your beloved belongings that you’ve had forever. Close your eyes and think about how homey your room will feel once it’s set up.
Picture yourself introducing yourself easily to new people, laughing with your roommate, and navigating campus easily.
Look up the coffee shops or ice cream parlors near your campus; set aside $10 to get a treat to celebrate your first day of classes.
Write down some achievable goals, like meeting three new people in each class. Then write down your affirmations. You can make these whatever is meaningful to you, but here are some ideas:
-
My future friends can’t wait to meet me.
-
I am meant to be here.
-
I will grow so much from each new challenge that I face.
A few minutes of imagining and manifesting each day will prepare you for any transition- especially this one!
